As an avid animal lover, I was excited to find this game about tracking animals. One of my favorite hobbies is to go in a forest and try to find wolves based off of tracking their footprints. Imagine my disappointment, when this game is not only NOT about tracking animals, but rather, it is about animal trafficking.
I spent the last 3 hours trying to save all the animals and I can't even get past the first stage. I like how this game acknowledges that fighting animal trafficking is near impossible, but oh my goodness did they have to make it so demoralizing? Imagine you are trying to ask a girl out on a date, and you are nice to her, you buy her nice things, you are polite, and you are very attractive. Despite all of your strengths though, she decides to move across the country and never respond to your texts again. That's what playing this game feels like.
When I was a young boy, I was told that I would one day be able to protect animals from the dangers of this world. But no matter how hard I try, every time I think I am making progress I end up falling behind. Want to save animals as fast as possible? Too bad now you have no energy. Want to build up your resources to fight the poachers all at once? Too bad they respawn anyways and also now you have no energy. This is really all a metaphor for my love life. I am talking to a girl and I think it is going well. Too bad now I have no energy and also she says she sees me as a little brother.
I'd rather reread the break up texts she sent me than play this game again. The emotional heartbreak I've been through while playing this game has harmed me immensely. I've had to call 911 multiple times. When I shared this game with my friends they understood how big of a problem animal trafficking really is. From this, we started a non-profit called AnimalLuvrs4Lyfe and have donated all of our current proceeds to the World Wildlife Fund ($0).
9/10 game. Made me sad but I think that was intentional. The art was nice. Sometimes the poacher bases spawned under the shop and next turn button and you can't interact with them. That's the only problem with this game really.
